HOLE 1 STROKE - 1

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 1 STROKE - 1

The toughest starting holes in golf! This 433-metre, par 4 needs an accurate long drive to the fairway that doglegs to the right. The average golfer will still have a wood or long iron to a long narrow green protected by a bunker on the right and trees to the left on the slope.

HOLE 2 STROKE - 7

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 2 STROKE - 7

This 509-metre scenic par 5-hole with its elevated tee and out of bounds on the left needs a straight drive and is reachable in two. However, your second is a blind shot which must favor the right hand side of the fairway that slopes left towards a water hazard that guards the left hand side of a double-tiered green. The bunker on the right of the green might force you to play safe and lay up short past the paper bark tree on the fairway.

HOLE 3 STROKE - 5

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 3 STROKE - 5

From the back tee this 210-metre par three is a challenge to all players. A bunker guards the left hand side and a par is a good score.

HOLE 4 STROKE - 17

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 4 STROKE - 17

This 445-metre par 5 has a water hazard that runs across the fairway 290 meters from the tee. Keep your drive on the left hand side of the fairway as the ball kicks towards the right off the slope, this sets you up for a five wood or long iron to the green. Long hitters might use a fairway wood or long iron from the tee. Long hitters might use a fairway metal or long iron from the tee. A good drive and second shot secures a birdie.

HOLE 5 STROKE - 13

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 5 STROKE - 13

Nelspruit Golf Club A short par 3 of 141-meters, the player hits over a donga to a very long green protected by bunkers on the right. Club selection is important as it can vary by as much as three clubs depending on the pin position.

HOLE 6 STROKE - 3

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 6 STROKE - 3

On this difficult 380-meter uphill par four, a good drive down the right hand side will set you up to attack the green and make your par. Hit the ball left and with all the trees you could enter a high number on your card.

HOLE 7 STROKE - 11

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 7 STROKE - 11

This 372-metre downhill par four plays short with a good drive. A bunker guards the left side of the green and a large Natal Mahogany tree the right front. For the longer hitters this hole is a drive and a sand wedge.

HOLE 8 STROKE - 9

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 8 STROKE - 9

This uphill 342-metre par four is relatively simple, hit a straight drive and providing you check the pin position on this double tiered green, a birdie might grace your card.

HOLE 9 STROKE - 15

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 9 STROKE - 15

Nelspruit Golf Club A short 316-metre, par four to finish the nine. The average player will be hitting a short iron again to a double-tiered green. A Large Natal Mahogany tree guards the front of the green and watch out for the deep bunkers on the right hand side.

HOLE 10 STROKE - 10

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 10 STROKE - 10

Nelspruit Golf ClubA gentle 355-metre par 4 to start the back nine with a large Marula Tree on the right hand side of the fairway that can catch your drive. A lateral water hazard (donga) on the left swallows the hooked drive. A birdie is on the cards.

HOLE 11 STROKE - 16

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 11 STROKE - 16

Nelspruit Golf Club This 297-metre risk and reward, par 4, plays over a dam. For the long hitters it is possible to find the green with your drive. Keep away from the lateral hazard on the left and the two large bunkers, one situated on the right hand side of the fairway and the other in the front right of the green. A long iron or 5 wood is a prudent way to play this hole.

HOLE 12 STROKE - 2

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 12 STROKE - 2

With a fairway that slopes right to left, this long 377-meter par four requires a precision tee shot up the right hand side with a small fade to hold the fairway. Your second with a long iron is uphill to a large green and don’t forget to check the pin position. Any golf ball pulled left of the slope will disappear into the lateral water hazard (donga) that runs along the left hand side of the entire hole. A bunker guards the left of the green. A par is a bonus.

HOLE 13 STROKE - 12

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 13 STROKE - 12

A 172-meter par 3 to an undulating green. A good long to medium iron will do the job but again the pin position must be observed or a three putt will spoil your card

HOLE 14 STROKE - 14

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 14 STROKE - 14

Standing on an elevated tee this 498-meter par 5 looks inviting, a good drive will set up a birdie for you but the lateral water hazard (donga) on the right and trees on the left dictate that your drive must be straight. Bunkers on either side of a long narrow green will trap an errant shot and don’t be over the back, as you will lose your ball in the hazard (donga). Rather play safe and lay-up past the Marula trees in the fairway and a par is a certainty.

HOLE 15 STROKE - 6

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 15 STROKE - 6

Trees line both sides of this 332-metre short par 4 that curves to the right. A new water hazard on the right front of the green will catch a ball that is short. A drive favoring the left hand side of the fairway will set you up with a easier shot to the pin. When the pin is at the front of this two-tiered green it is difficult to get your ball close leaving you with a short put for a birdie.

HOLE 16 STROKE - 8

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 16 STROKE - 8

This 398-metre par 4 requires a good drive down the middle of the fairway. Trees down the right and a lateral water hazard (donga) down the left can do damage to your card. A good drive will set you up for a par. The large Marula tree on the front right hand side of the green catches your ball if you do not choose the right iron and bunkers on the left and right make this hole worthy of Stroke 6 on the card.

HOLE 17 STROKE - 18

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 17 STROKE - 18

This beautiful scenic short 12-meter par 3 is a gem. Don’t be fooled by the sucker pin position on the left side of this narrow green set tight against the donga on the left and a bunker on the right. Rather hit your ball to the center and take your par to turn for home.

HOLE 18

Nelspruit Golf Club

HOLE 18 STROKE - 4

Nelspruit Golf Club This 38- meter uphill par four is a difficult one. A large wild fig tree (two hundred years old) will catch any drive pulled or hooked slightly left. Trees up the right and left are just as menacing. Your second shot to a green with a new water hazard on the left and behind the green demands a straight shot. A par will earn you a drink
